East Leake
After School
& Holiday Club

About Us
EAST LEAKE HOLIDAY and OUT-OF-SCHOOL CLUB was opened in 2001 with the support of the New Opportunities Fund. We look after school-aged children aged up to 11 years old. Our team members take full advantage of the extensive range of opportunities offered by our very special site attached to the MANOR FARM ANIMAL CENTRE AND DONKEY SANCTUARY.

Our team aim is to promote learning and personal development through a wide range of activities and experiences, with an emphasis on play and discovery, rather than formal education. We encourage involvement in a range of group activities to help consolidate confident social and communication skills.

Our newly-refurbished base is close to the Activity Centres on MANOR FARM and offers a cosy and warm (if required) environment where children and staff can enjoy a 'bit of time out' or can settle down to table-based activities.

· We offer a safe and stimulating environment where the children are able to discover the natural world about them at their own individual pace.
· Key Workers carefully monitor the children's development and progress and make a point of sharing it with the parent/carer.
· We offer full and part-time places. Priority is given to parent/carers requiring full-time holiday or out-of-school care and to those who already have a child attending one of our nurseries.
· We offer cover for school 'inset' days, 'boiler failure' days, etc.
· We operate an Open Door policy - so parent/carers and staff have the opportunity to communicate freely.
· All activities are always under full supervision.

Weekly Activities
These will vary with the time of year and the weather and are based around a number of themes, including:
· Understanding of different seasons and their effect on our lives and on animals
· Acknowledgement of different festivals, their meaning and how they are celebrated
· Different aspects of animal care, e.g. the work of the blacksmith and the horse dentist
· A wide range of arts and crafts activities
· Teddy Bears' picnics - in our own real woods! How do animals live in the woods?
· Use of our own adventure play areas, including our straw maze and living willow structures
· Donkey and pony rides and care
· Outside trips to local venues and events (e.g. the Rushcliffe Festival)

Undercover Play Barn

Outside Environment
In addition to their activities around our affiliated MANOR FARM ANIMAL CENTRE AND DONKEY SANCTUARY, children are taken for visits around the village and to local attractions, e.g. cinema.

Our Partnership with Parents Policy
As with all our Nurseries, EAST LEAKE HOLIDAY and OUT-OF-SCHOOL CLUB operates an 'Open Door' policy and encourages parents/carers to feel that they can communicate freely with our qualified team members.
